Windows which consists of Apache, MySQL and PHP. AMPPS is a WAMP stack which can be installed on Desktop or on a Windows Server. Apache is the web server, MySQL is the database and PHP is server side scripting language. This WAMP Stack ships with PHP, PERL and Python server side scripting language, PERL and Python runs on the CGI and mod_wsgi respectively on the Web server. Along with MySQL, AMPPS also provides the developers to work with MongoDB Database. To manage the databases and tables, phpMyAdmin for MySQL and RockMongo for MongoDB are provided.

  • Compatible OS: Windows XP SP3+, Windows Vista SP2+, Windows Server 2003 SP2+, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • *Note: You must have administrator privileges on your computer to run AMPPS.
  • Space: Capacity of minimum 1.5GB Hard Disk space.
  • Memory: 1GB RAM

Installing WAMP

  • Step 1:
    Download the WAMP stack from here:http://www.ampps.com/download. Download the one under Windows section.

  • Step 2:
    Run the setup Ampps-*.*-setup.exe to start the installation.
  • *Note: Setup might take little more time to start..

  • Step 3:
    Select the Path where you want to install the WAMP Stack.

  • Step 4:
    Let the installation complete.

  • Note:
    1. When you run AMPPS for the first time make sure your Internet connection is active.
    2. AMPPS doesn't support proxy yet. So you must have a Direct Internet Connection
    3. After Installing AMPPS, open path/to/Ampps/Ampps.exe, this will take some time as it is setting up AMPPS for your Windows

WAMP Usage

  1. Default MySQL root password is "mysql".
  2. To access localhost, visit url http://localhost. DocumentRoot is path/to/Ampps/www folder.
  3. To access AMPPS Enduser Panel, visit url http://localhost/ampps
  4. To access AMPPS Admin Panel, visit url, http://localhost/ampps-admin
  5. To access phpMyAdmin, visit url http://localhost/phpmyadmin
  6. To access SQLiteManager, visit url http://localhost/sqlite
  7. You can "Restore Default Configuration" files of Apache, PHP & MySQL from their respective Tabs in AMPPS Control Center.
    Note: Your previous configuration will be lost.
  8. You can change MySQL root password, visit url http://localhost/ampps/index.php?act=mysqlsettings.
  9. You can secure AMPPS Enduser/Admin Panel, visit url http://localhost/ampps/index.php?act=secure.
  10. Enable/Disable Python Environment (Right click on System Tray Icon of AMPPS Control Center -> Configuration -> AMPPS -> Python Environment)
